Dear ITMMS Families,
Welcome to a brand new week at Island Trees Memorial Middle School! There is always a unique sense of excitement and energy that comes with a fresh Monday morning, and we are thrilled to welcome our students back for another week of learning and growth.
As we begin this new week, I want to take a moment to look back at the incredible events that brought our community together last week. Our International Night on Tuesday, April 21st, was a truly spectacular evening. We were moved by the wonderful turnout and the vibrant display of the many cultures that make our school and community so special. Thank you for sharing your heritage and your pride with us; it is your participation that makes events like this so meaningful.
We also want to express our gratitude for your support of our Career Day this past Friday. It was a rewarding venture for our students to explore various professional paths and begin dreaming about their own futures. We truly appreciate the dedication you show in encouraging your children to engage with these programs and for your continued belief in the opportunities we provide here at ITMMS.
Looking ahead, we have a very busy and productive week scheduled:
-
Monday: Our 8th grade Biology students are heading out to the DNA Learning Center in Cold Spring Harbor, a great opportunity for hands-on discovery.
-
Music Rehearsals: Our talented 7th & 8th musicians will be hard at work throughout the week preparing for their upcoming performances.
-
Wednesday: We will be administering the 5th & 8th Grade NYS Science Assessments. We appreciate your support in ensuring your children arrive well-rested and ready to do their best.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for being such a vital part of the Island Trees family. Let’s work together to make this a fantastic week for all of our students!
Sincerely,
Mr. Keegan
