The Mission of the Island Trees Memorial Middle School Science Department is to:
- Create scientifically literate citizens that can be responsible decision makers and leaders
- Build science skill and knowledge that can serve our students in High School and College
- Spark an interest in learning more about the natural world and accompanying technologies
We do this by challenging the students with appropriate and varied tasks consistent with the New York State Next Generation Science Standards. To help achieve these goals we strongly encourage our parents to monitor their child’s progress and keep an open line of communication with their teachers who are always eager to help and support your child.
